Vermont Maple Sweetened Cornbread

 
Ingredients -
Non-Stick Cooking Spray
1 cup Unbleached White Flour
1 cup Stone-Ground Yellow Cornmeal
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Coarse Salt
2 Eggs, beaten
1/3 cup Pure Maple Syrup
2/3 cup Whole Milk
1/3 cup Salted Butter, melted
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

2. Grease a 8 inch square pan with non-stick cooking spray.

3. Sift together the dry ingredients into a medium bowl.

4. In a small bowl, add the beaten egg, syrup, melted butter and whole milk.

5. Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, using the least amount of strokes to combine.

6. Transfer the batter into the prepared and cook him for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
