1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2. Add 1/2 stick of butter to a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
3. Place in the oven until melted.
4. In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, eggs, buttermilk and sugar.
5. Melt the other half stick of butter in the microwave and add to the flour mixture.
6. Mix well.
7. Transfer the mixture to the baking pan.
8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Let cool for 10 minutes and serve.
