Maple Cornbread

 
Ingredients -
1/2 cup Salted Butter, melted
1/3 cup White Sugar
1/3 cup Maple Syrup, good quality
2 Large Eggs, room temperature
1 cup Buttermilk 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Yellow Cornmeal
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

2. Whisk together the sugar, melted butter and maple syrup in a large mixing bowl.

3. Add the eggs and stir thoroughly to combine.

4. Shake the buttermilk and combine it, baking soda and salt.

5. Whisk to combine.

6. Add the flour and cornmeal and stir until just blended.

7. Pour the batter into a greased 8 inch square pan.

8. Bake for 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Let stand for 20 minutes, cut into squares and serve.
