1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Using a 9 inch square, spray it with non-stick cooking oil.
3. In a medium sized bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar,baking powder, baking soda and salt.
4. Whisk the egg into a medium bowl.
5. Whisk in the buttermilk, vegetable oil and creamed corn.
6. Combine wet and dry ingredients in as few strokes as possible.
7. Transfer the skillet back into the shower and cook for 25 to 30 minutes and scrape batter into the prepared pan.
8. Bake until golden brown.
9. Serve hot with butter.
